Some Background:

 

My journey with music began around the age of 7 after auditioning for the school choir. I left school at 11 having developed a sharp ear for harmonies and a love of singing with full expression in a group setting...despite struggling with the formality of the church's involvement and the songs we sang (yet have reaped many benefits from those experiences also!)

 

Forward wind to teenage years and being consistently drawn to playing music through the radio and dancing, a love of clubbing developed. In these spaces I observed how free I felt - no expectations, no trying to be someone I thought I needed to be - just free, fluid and moving to the beat.

I discovered the conscious festival scene in my late 20's and became mesmerised that people attending did not hide behind intoxicants or suppressed their expression. Conscious events and my own healing journey have delivered so much over the years and I began to express myself and show up in my life in more freely expressive ways - finally picking up a guitar and learning to drum combined my adoration of joyful music and creating songs through poems that arise within me.

Deep enquiry has been interwoven throughout my life as to remembering who I am beyond my thoughts and lived experiences, characters, roles and versions of 'me' that have played out.
 

From there, creating singing circles and gatherings where we can just 'drop it all and be' is now a real passion of mine and SatSong became birthed...
